CIMCO. Ana María Valderama & David Kadouch
Violinist Ana María Valderrama and pianist David Kadouch join forces to explore the artistic universe of Federico García Lorca. The duo has just released an album (IBS Classical, 2024) featuring works closely linked to the Granada-born poet, a recording that has been awarded Best Classical Music Album of 2024 by the Spanish Music Academy.
This performance, part of CIMCO, brings together pieces by several composers inspired by Lorca’s poetry, along with a selection of songs that the poet himself harmonized, presented here in new arrangements for violin and piano by Alberto Martín. The program also includes Poulenc’s Sonata for Violin and Piano, selected movements from Three Portraits by Alicia Terzian, Debussy’s Violin Sonata, and Fritz Kreisler’s arrangement of the “Spanish Dance” from Manuel de Falla’s La vida breve.
The entire recital will be accompanied by the poetry of Lorca, recited by Ana María Valderrama herself.
