The Conciertos y Jornadas de Piano cycle delivers one of those evenings that define an entire season, with the arrival in Oviedo of Yuja Wang, a pianist of dazzling virtuosity and unmistakable stage presence. She takes to the stage of the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe alongside the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Fabien Gabel, on Thursday 15 January 2026 at 7:30 pm. The programme leaves no room for hesitation, moving from the sharp neoclassical wit of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite to the rhythmic and technical high-wire act of Ligeti’s Piano Concerto, through the theatrical sparkle of Mozart’s ballet music from Idomeneo, and culminating in the sweeping romantic intensity of Chopin’s First Piano Concerto. A combination designed to captivate, challenge and leave the audience with that unmistakable feeling of having witnessed something truly special.
