Ten Asturian Artists Headline the Final Exhibition of the Artístiques Project in Oviedo

The Artístiques project, which last November brought together more than forty creators for a day of performing arts, music and visual arts at Almacenes Kuivi, now continues with a collective exhibition at Komono Gallery, located in the historic centre of the city.

The exhibition features works by Dido Carrero, Jools, Celia Pandiella, Luzia Pedregal, Lucía Álvarez, Clara Nieto, Raquel Mañana, Inés Benito, María Ortiz and Iraxe Esteve, a selection of young artists connected to the Asturian art scene. Many of the pieces were created live during the festival held in November and reflect different approaches to painting and contemporary visual arts.

The exhibition serves as the closing stage of the creative process launched during the festival, an initiative that brought together nearly forty artists and created a dialogue between different artistic disciplines under a framework that combines contemporary creation, feminism and the Asturian language.

The project is promoted by the Asturian clothing brand Puru Remangu and the cultural promoter Ixuxú Cultura, with the aim of giving visibility to young female talent and creating spaces for exchange between different artistic disciplines. The initiative is supported by the Consejería de Cultura del Principado de Asturias and the Instituto de la Juventud de España (INJUVE), with sponsorship from Caja Rural de Asturias.

Projects such as Artístiques help strengthen Oviedo’s contemporary cultural ecosystem by creating opportunities for emerging artists and encouraging collaboration between creative communities. Initiatives of this kind also reflect the city’s cultural vitality and its commitment to placing culture at the heart of urban development, one of the guiding principles behind the bid for Oviedo European Capital of Culture 2031 bid.

The exhibition can be visited over the coming weeks at Komono Gallery, offering visitors the chance to discover new voices in contemporary art in Asturias.
