Gascona, Oviedo’s famous “Cider Boulevard”, hosts a new edition of the Preba de la Sidra Festival, one of Asturias’ most emblematic gastronomic and cultural celebrations.

For an entire week, the street will come alive with activities centred on Asturian cider culture, including cider tastings, live music, dance performances, gastronomic events and the traditional Official Cider Pouring Competition. The main celebration will take place on 7 June, when thousands of visitors are expected to gather to taste the season’s new cider and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Created more than twenty years ago to showcase the first cider of the year and highlight the work of Asturian cider producers, the festival has become one of the region’s most popular events. Today, it also celebrates Asturian cider culture, recently recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
