Oviedo 2031 receives almost one hundred proposals for the Pequeñas Acciones por la Amabilidá call

The Pequeñas Acciones por la Amabilidá call, launched by Oviedo 2031 to connect artists and schools, has closed with 96 proposals.

The application period ended last Friday, 18 September, after remaining open for just over a month to artists and collectives. The proposals received cover a wide range of artistic languages and disciplines, including theatre, music, dance, painting, poetry and clowning, as well as projects that combine different artistic practices.

A large number of applications were submitted during the final days of the call, particularly on the closing day. The selection process will now begin, with up to twelve projects to be chosen. The selected proposals will be included in a catalogue that will be made available to schools in the municipality, allowing them to explore the different projects and choose those that best suit their educational communities.

Each initiative will be developed through a process of mediation and co-creation with children and young people, who will take an active role in the different stages of the work. The projects will include a minimum of five sessions and may receive up to €3,000 in funding for their development.

Pequeñas Acciones por la Amabilidá builds on the work started during the previous school year, when around twenty artists worked with more than 30 schools to explore, through different creative languages, what Amabilidá means and how it relates to issues such as coexistence, equality, sustainability, listening and participation.

The process culminated on 9 May with the March for Amabilidá, in which more than 2,500 children took to the streets of Oviedo carrying banners and presenting choreography, music, costumes and other creations developed previously in the classroom.

With this new edition, Oviedo 2031 aims to continue strengthening the relationship between culture and education and to create spaces where artists and educational communities can meet, experiment, create and develop projects together.
