We continue holding neighborhood meetings with a new participatory roundtable at the Campomanes Social Center. Representatives from neighborhood associations, folk groups, local businesses, and cultural organizations shared their ideas and concerns with the team behind Oviedo’s bid for European Capital of Culture 2031.

During the session, key community topics and concerns were addressed, such as improving accessibility in public spaces, the neglected condition of certain green areas, and a project aimed at revitalizing the use of the Asturian language to strengthen the region’s linguistic identity.

The candidacy team highlighted the high level of community engagement and the positive reception the initiative has received in every neighborhood visited so far. These meetings are essential to building a more participatory, inclusive, and culturally rich Oviedo. Citizen participation remains a cornerstone in the journey toward becoming European Capital of Culture 2031.
