Artístiques fills Kuivi with Asturian talent and a strong public turnout
The Almacenes Kuivi in Oviedo were filled to capacity on Saturday night during the celebration of Artístiques, the festival organised by Puru Remangu and Ixuxú Cultura, which achieved a remarkable public turnout.
The event began at 7:00 p.m. with the live creation of several works on canvas, a process that attracted dozens of attendees from the very first moments. Artists María Ortiz, Luzia Pedregal, Iratxe Esteve, Juls, Inés Benito, Clara Nieto, Celia Pandiella and Dido Carrero, together with students Raquel Mañana from the Escuela Superior de Arte del Principado and Lucía Álvarez from the Escuela de Arte de Oviedo, worked in front of the public for more than two hours. Once completed, the pieces were presented by their creators and made available for purchase.
At 8:00 p.m., it was time for the performing arts, with the premiere of four pieces in Asturian. The proposals, diverse in tone and theme, transformed the space into a small laboratory of contemporary creation.
From 9:30 p.m. onwards, the programme shifted to music with the Asturianada Electronics Showcase, which once again demonstrated its ability to surprise and reinterpret traditional repertoire through a contemporary lens. The stage featured performances by singers Alicia Villanueva and Lucía Rojo; writers Blanca Fernández, Marina Pangua and Ánxela Gómez d’Ávila; DJ Lidia Friera; Galician artist Catuxa Salom and Basque creator Süne, as well as the trio Rellume, who brought the evening to a close with a high-energy performance.
Artístiques, which was free to attend, was supported by the Asturias Regional Ministry of Culture, the Spanish Youth Institute, and sponsored by Caja Rural. The event concluded by making clear that young talent and Asturian creativity are not only thriving but in a moment of full artistic effervescence.
