ADAR Festival
Few events blend landscape, heritage, and contemporary creation as beautifully as ADAR.
Now in its fifth edition, the Festival for the Development of the Arts in Rural Areas brings Asturias’ cultural craftsmanship into the heart of nature.
For two weeks, the rural landscape becomes a living stage: chamber music, soundscapes, visual installations, dance, performance… Everything finds its place in hórreos, farmhouses, churches and monasteries—transformed into extraordinary scenic venues.
Festival highlights include:
August 5 (Gozón) – Micro-concert at Susacasa Agrocultural, featuring winners of the Hórreo Competition.
August 7 (Llanes) – The Whale, a multidisciplinary show with live music and visual installation at the Monastery of San Antolín de Bedón.
August 8 – Visual concert in the same monastery, blending classical music with projections and lighting.
August 9 (Casantos) – Sound Walk in Leiguarda: a nocturnal route among hórreos and a village church under the moonlight.
August 11–15 – Mini-concerts in rural settings across Tineo, Taramundi, Oscos and Corias.
August 16 (Leiguarda) – Recital by Andrea Casarrubios, Grammy-nominated composer and cellist.
August 17 (Leiguarda) – Festival closing with a concert in a church and greenhouse, followed by a traditional espicha with cider and empanada.
ADAR is more than a festival: it’s an immersive cultural experience that brings together art, territory, and community.
A must for those seeking beauty, stillness, and emotion among meadows, stone and silence.
