The renowned ensemble Concentus Musicus Wien performs in Oviedo as part of the Piano Series and Concerts (CCJP) with a programme devoted to one of the masterpieces of the Baroque repertoire.

Conducted by Stefan Gottfried, the orchestra will perform the Brandenburg Concertos (BWV 1046–1051) by Johann Sebastian Bach, a landmark collection of orchestral works celebrated for its brilliance, inventiveness and rich instrumental colours.

The concert is dedicated to the memory of Nikolaus Harnoncourt, who passed away on 5 March 2016 and was a pioneering figure in historically informed performance.

Performed on period instruments, the programme offers audiences the chance to experience Bach’s music through the vibrant and expressive sound world of Baroque interpretation.
