Cafca

CAFCA* (Culture, Art, Family, Open City) is a performing arts festival designed for families to enjoy together. It was born in 2020 with the aim of offering cultural experiences that are different, surprising, and open to all audiences, regardless of age.

The festival turns the city into a grand stage, built on three core pillars: bringing lesser-known artistic expressions closer to the public, creating shared experiences across generations, and giving new cultural uses to unexpected spaces.

For three days, CAFCA* fills Oviedo with theatre, concerts, vertical dance, opera, magic, acrobatics, art installations, shadow theatre, cine-concerts, puppetry, augmented reality, and object-based performances. A diverse program that transforms parks, gardens, streets, squares, theatres, and even unused buildings into spaces for connection and imagination.

Beyond the show itself, CAFCA* aims to make art a part of everyday life and invites the public to rediscover the city through a cultural, creative, and shared lens.

At the end of June, Oviedo opens up to fantasy, play, and family-friendly art.
