The Gijón Book Fair will hold its ninth edition from June 18 to 22, breaking records once again: 104 participants (29 bookshops and 74 publishers and institutions) and 92 booths, surpassing 2024’s figures. Only Madrid and Barcelona have larger book fairs in Spain. Due to this growth, organizers are studying how to better distribute the space between Begoña and Tomás Valiente. Since 2021, participation has nearly doubled. Around 100 authors will take part in events aimed at all audiences, with a strong focus on children and young readers. A new feature this year is the presentation of the National Young Poetry Prize “Juan Ignacio González” on Saturday, June 14.
