Working meeting with the commissioners to review the progress of Oviedo 2031’s bidbook
Last week, a coordination meeting was held with the project’s commissioners, an encounter aimed at sharing the progress made in each area and strengthening the overall vision of the candidacy. The goal was to ensure that everyone involved is aware of the current stage of the work and how each piece fits into the whole.
One of the most significant milestones is that the first draft of the bidbook is now complete. This document is the cornerstone of Oviedo’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture 2031.
At this stage, the design team is reviewing the structure to adjust content, assess potential cuts, and select the images that will illustrate each chapter. At the same time, work is underway on the English translation, an essential step for presenting the document to the European jury. The challenge now is to condense the entire project into a maximum of 60 pages without losing clarity or ambition.
The calendar marks an important moment ahead: the bidbook must be submitted in December. After this submission, the team will travel to Madrid to present the proposal before the evaluation committee, which will decide which cities advance to the first phase of the selection process.
