Oviedo Jazz Europa
Oviedo will host Oviedo Jazz Europa over the coming weeks, a gathering promoted by Kairos Music that will turn the city into a space for cultural and musical exchange between Asturias, Europe and Ibero-America through jazz as a shared language.
The initiative will bring together concerts, round tables and professional meetings featuring artists, programmers and cultural institutions from different parts of Europe.
One of the highlights will be Jazz About Bach on May 25 at Teatro Campoamor. Under the artistic direction of Cuban saxophonist and composer, the project creates a dialogue between the musical universe of Johann Sebastian Bach, the creative freedom of jazz and a strong Cuban sensibility.
The performance offers a contemporary reinterpretation of some of Bach’s most iconic works through original arrangements by Brínguez. Joining him on stage will be his quintet, the Orquesta de Cámara Solidaria (OCAS) and the Coro de Voces Blancas del Nalón, conducted by Pedro Ordieres.
