This Wednesday, citizen participation roundtables took place at El Cortijo community center in La Corredoria. This is the youngest neighborhood in the Autonomous Community, highly aware of cultural diversity, as it hosts the largest number of nationalities in Asturias, with around 45 represented.

The objective of these meetings, which are spaces for active listening and dialogue, is to continue advancing on the path to European Capital of Culture.

The residents of La Corredoria proved to be a highly participatory neighborhood, open to dialogue, eager to share their time with the community. They are proud of their neighborhood, know what kind of place they want and what they want it to be.

The European Capital of Culture seeks an involved citizenry that supports local creators and projects their identity to the rest of Europe, always putting people at the center of this process.
