Oviedo unveils its new image and slogan as a candidate for European Capital of Culture 2031

Oviedo has officially unveiled its new visual identity and the slogan for its candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2031: Puxa Europa, The future is now. The event was held at the former Arms Factory of La Vega and featured the participation of the Mayor of Oviedo, Alfredo Canteli, and the director of the candidacy, Rodolfo Sánchez, who emphasized the value of using the Asturian language as both a cultural and European asset.
Also taking part were the project’s artistic director, Natalia Simó, and the Minister of Culture of the Principality of Asturias, Vanessa Gutiérrez, who defended culture as a universal right.
The creative team Los Patos, made up of Inés Iglesias and Matteo Mastronardi, presented the new logo and explained its creation process and meaning. In addition, an open call was launched to collect cultural initiatives that will help strengthen Oviedo’s proposal.
