San Mateo 2025 will offer over one hundred performances for all audiences

Oviedo’s stand at the Asturias International Trade Fair (FIDMA), dedicated this year to the city’s bid to become European Capital of Culture 2031, hosted the presentation of the San Mateo 2025 Festival programme. The Councillor for Festivities, Covadonga Díaz, was joined by Jorge Martínez, leader of Ilegales, one of the bands performing at this year’s festivities.

The celebrations will take place from 11 to 22 September, with an early start on 6 September thanks to the Fyin Fest, featuring artists such as Camilo and María Becerra. The programme includes more than 100 musical performances in streets and squares, with major concerts by Sebastián Yatra, Juan Magán, Omar Montes, Izal, Duncan Dhu, Coque Malla, Europe, Orquesta Tekila, and the all-female Corazonadas Fest.

In addition to music, San Mateo will feature children’s activities, Asturian folklore, sports events, a market on Avenida de Alemania, activities organised by Real Oviedo football club, and the traditional Día de América, which will fill the city with colour and cultural diversity. As the grand finale, the Romería del Cristo will close a month of celebration on 28 September.

Jorge Martínez revealed that the Ilegales concert, on 14 September, will be “a journey through our repertoire with the power of rock and roll” and affordable ticket prices for all audiences.
